Floor layer in Kreis Heinsberg

Precise & dependable

A floor forgives nothing. Every joint, every transition and every millimetre of level difference stays visible for years. Which is why good floor work starts with measuring and with the subfloor, not with the first pack of boards.

01 Setting out

The plan is fixed before the first board goes down

A floor is set out, not simply put down. The axis, the first row, the laying direction, the perimeter gap and the cut edges are all decided before a pack is opened. Drag the handle and see what was actually planned in a finished room.

Plan Finished

Drag the handle or use the arrow keys

  1. 01 Axis: the room is given a centre line that the laying is aligned to.
  2. 02 First row: it decides everything that follows across the floor.
  3. 03 Perimeter gap: space is left all round so the covering can move.
  4. 04 Transitions: doors, walls and pipes are cut around, not covered over.

The lines are a drawing placed over our own photograph. They show how the floor was aligned and are no substitute for measuring on site.

Talk through the laying

Laying patterns

Herringbone

Every piece sits at an angle to the next. The pattern forgives no crooked axis, because one error carries on across the whole floor.

Calm, high end, demanding to cut

Staggered

Offset rows in a half or random bond. The offset is chosen deliberately so no staircase of joints runs through the room.

Discreet, lengthening, economical

Wide plank

Wide, long boards running one way. The effect stands or falls with a straight first row and a clean perimeter finish.

Generous, calm, few joints

Basket weave

Square fields of turned strips. A geometric pattern that picks up the room edges and therefore has to be measured out exactly.

Graphic, classic, exacting

The four sketches show pattern and effect, not a manufacturer product. Which pattern suits your room depends on its shape, the light and the material, and is decided at the appointment on site.

02 Material, technique, result

What happens between the bare slab and the finished room

A floor covering is the last of several layers. How long the top one lasts is decided in the ones underneath it.

01 Material

The covering is chosen for the room

Use, moisture, daylight and build up height decide what is possible. A covering that is right in a living room can be the wrong choice in a bathroom or a hallway.

  • Wear rating and use come before the look
  • Build up height at doors and transitions accounted for

02 Technique

The subfloor is made sound

The bare floor is checked, cleaned and levelled where it needs it. Only once the surface is flat, firm and dry is the room set out and the covering laid.

  • Check level, fill, prime
  • Measure the axis, set the first row square

03 Result

The room gets a calm surface

What counts in the end is what you do not see: no open joints, no step at the doors, clean edges at walls and pipework. The floor reads as calm because it genuinely is.

  • Even perimeter gaps, skirting cut cleanly
  • Transitions finished without a trip edge

What lies on what

  1. 01 Bare floor or screed
  2. 02 Levelling compound, filled
  3. 03 Primer
  4. 04 Insulation or acoustic underlay
  5. 05 Floor covering

The build up is a drawing and shows the usual case. Not every room needs every layer, and which of yours need which is something we tell you after the site visit.

04 Work

Floors from our own sites

No catalogue images and no other firm projects. The photographs come from the sites of this business, with everything a building site shows.

The photographs show floors from interior fit out work, some of them mid job while walls or reveals were still being worked on. None of them is retouched.

05 Service area

From Hückelhoven across Kreis Heinsberg

Short distances are not a marketing line in this trade. They are the reason a site visit can happen next week and a small correction does not turn into a project of its own.

Kreis Heinsberg is built the way its history ran: settlement housing from the fifties, brick farmsteads, terraces from the eighties and new estates at the edge of every village. Each of them brings its own floor, from old board flooring through cement screed to freshly poured flowing screed.

That is why every enquiry starts with an appointment on site. Without having seen the subfloor, neither the build up nor a price that still holds at the end can be settled.

Why this business

01 Subfloor before covering

The bare floor decides the result. So it gets checked and prepared, even though nobody sees it afterwards.

02 Measured properly

Measuring happens before the quote, not during the laying. That saves both sides surprises in the final invoice.

03 Clean working

Covered up before we start, tidied before we leave. Offcuts and packaging go with us.

04 One point of contact

From the first question to handover the number stays the same. No handovers, no call routing.

07 Good to know

What is usually still open before an enquiry

Four answers that otherwise get sorted out over the phone.

01 Does the old floor have to come up?
That depends on what is underneath. A firm, level existing covering can serve as a subfloor in some cases, a loose or damp one cannot. Build up height matters too: if doors and transitions no longer work, the old covering comes up.
02 How level does the subfloor have to be?
More level than most people expect. Small waves show up later as soft spots, larger ones lead to open joints. That is why the bare floor is checked with a straight edge before the quote and levelled where it is needed.
03 Can I supply the covering myself?
Yes, many customers do. The only thing that matters is that quantity and waste allowance suit the chosen pattern: herringbone needs noticeably more material than a straight lay. Better to work that out with us beforehand than to reorder afterwards.
04 What about underfloor heating?
The covering has to be approved for it, and the build up must not insulate the heat away. We lay on existing heated screeds and advise on the choice of covering. We do not install the heating itself, that is a separate trade.

Protection against misuse

The form contains a hidden field that stays invisible to visitors and is only filled in by automated programs. In addition, the central application limits the number of submissions within a short period.

These measures serve to keep automated requests out. The legal basis is Article 6 (1) (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation.
